Joy In The Moment
Change Isn’t Easy

“The Only Thing That is Constant Is Change.” –Heraclitus
Going through hard times often makes us wake up to what is going on in us or around us and gets us to make some decisions about what we should do.
It doesn’t feel good to not feel good. It begs the question, “What am I going to do about this?” And the answer, “For things to change, I have to do something about it because I can’t or don’t want to live like this.”
What needs to happen is either the situation has to change OR I have to change how I handle the situation.
Most of us don’t like change, or at least don’t like the thought of change. We may make excuses like, “It’s always been like this” or “Doing something different won’t work” or “I can’t change.” Or we just feel resentment about the situation.
When feeling like this, you may get glimpses of things you may be able to do to make the change in the present situation, which may mean making a change within you and what you will do.
Here’s a reminder: things will change. People and situations for the most part don’t stay the same. There’s truth to the saying, “The only thing constant is change.” Knowing this can help you realize that something has to and will change. And, you are the one who gets to do something about it.
Stay open to those glimpses that help you make some decisions to change. It may be that the discomfort you are feeling now is getting you ready to have some peace and joy in the moment beyond what you ever expected. It is possible if you are open to it.
