SCENE FROM THE STREET
Tree sleeper

Coming upon this bizarre sight in the Hudson River Park one morning, at first it looked like someone had hung out a blanket to dry, but as we approached, we saw the foot with shoe dangling out of the edge. What! Someone is actually sleeping on a branch of a tree! Too weird! But true. Sympathies for what it must do for his back and neck, but then I can’t compare to what sleeping on the hard concrete sidewalk must do. As the park crews made their rounds, soon he was gone from the tree, and I haven’t seen him return in the mornings since.
