In June we reported that Lenox Health Greenwich Village (LHGV) is not only an Emergency Department but offers a new way of providing health care to our community. We communicated with Tracy Feiertag, MS, DHA, Deputy Executive Director of LHGV and her team about their state-of-the-art Imaging Center.

What does being a Center of Excellence mean?
The term refers to a hospital or healthcare facility that demonstrates expertise and proficiency in specific fields of medicine. Our imaging center has been designated a Center of Excellence for offering a full suite of services that provide clear imaging, which informs better diagnostics and screenings. The center’s technology also assists in guiding biopsies, ensuring precision, which in turn supports effective treatment.

What services do you offer?
Our imaging center features advanced technology like cutting-edge CTs, MRIs, ultrasounds, X-rays, image-guided biopsies and cancer screenings. Our on-site, subspecialized radiologists use their extensive experience to carefully interpret images, enhancing diagnostics and screenings.

What are the hours of operation?
The Imaging Center is open 7 am to 8 pm Monday through Friday and from 8 am to 4 pm on Saturday. This is an “outpatient center,” which mean it caters primarily to non-emergent patients through scheduled appointments to ensure prompt care.

If someone comes to the Emergency Department and needs radiology services, will they be transferred to another facility?
No, they do not need to be transferred. Patients who enter our full-service emergency department benefit from state-of-the-art radiology designed to provide accurate and rapid diagnostic imaging 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

I am not a regular patient of a Northwell-associated health care provider. can I still receive my radiology services at LHGV?
Yes, we accept a wide range of insurance plans ensuring that we can provide comprehensive care to a diverse community of patients, regardless of where they receive medical treatment. Insurance can be verified on our website.

Do you use the most accurate 3D mammography?
Yes, we are proud of the service options at our imaging center, including 3D mammography. In addition, we offer world-class breast screenings and diagnostic services including biopsies, MRIs, and ultrasounds.

Is there anything else you’d like us to know?
Just like technical expertise and diagnostic accuracy, the comfort and well-being of our patients is a top priority. We provide a calming environment with clinicians who offer prompt, compassionate care. Our spacious waiting room features gentle background music and aromatic diffusers, creating a tranquil atmosphere. Our large windows with expansive views of the city offer an abundance of natural light. By working collaboratively and treating each patient with empathy and respect, our team reduces anxiety, empowers informed decisions, and promotes better health outcomes.

We treat 140 patients a day and we bring the highest level of care to each of them. Our most recent patient experience feedback scores are over 89 percent. Our imaging center has received 16 HeartFlow CT Quality Awards which is given to the top 17 percent of medical centers providing this service.

We have been designated a Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence and received multiple accreditations from the American College of Radiology for services including breast imaging and lung cancer screening.
