The Bernstein Boys of Westbeth

We like making movies together. We like to go to Hudson Hound with our family friends, the Gropper and Rogers family, on Friday evenings, and we go to Sofia’s Bagels on Sunday mornings.

Jeannine Kiely, District and Community Leader-Problem-Solver Extraordinaire!

In a November 23, 2025 City & State NY article, Celia Bernhardt wrote that Assemblymember Deborah Glick (District 66, who is not running again) is backing local District Leader Jeannine Kiely to fill her seat saying that Kiely has “not just the intelligence but the experience and commitment and the knowledge of the neighborhood” needed to take over the job. District Leader Arthur Schwartz also supports Kiely, “She’s wonderful–a community-oriented, activist-to-her-bones person.”

Patricia Laraia, Community Advocate

Since Patricia joined the Community Board 2 (CB2) in 2017, her presence has been felt. I (Brian) have worked with Patricia on CB2 since 2018, and appreciate her dedication and friendly cooperation with everyone. She has done so much for the community, we wanted you to get to know about her.

Andrew Berman, Preservationist and Activist

Anyone living or working in lower Manhattan has probably heard of Andrew Berman. He has been the face and voice of historic preservation in Greenwich Village and beyond since 2002, when he became executive director of the Village Preservation organization.

Harvey Epstein, Political Activist Lawyer

Harvey Epstein has been an active member of our community for many years. Because he is running as the Democratic nominee for City Council District 2 and because of his record in the state legislature, we thought our readers would like to get to know him better.

Tracy Feiertag

Tracy Feiertag is the Vice President of Northwell Greenwich Village Hospital, responsible for the day-to-day operation of the hospital. We received permission to provide copies of Village View to all the hospital’s waiting rooms and emergency department. We asked Feiertag to share more of her connection with the West Village.

Michael Zweig, Professor and Organizer for Social Justice

Michael Zweig wrote an article in the June 2025 Village View entitled Beacons Shine the Light. Every Thursday at 7 pm he stands with fellow “beacons” in the Shine the Light initiative, holding up signs about economic and social justice while building a community of resistance to the array of fascist initiatives growing in this country.

Rupert Pupkin and Lulu Bean both hail from the great state of Texas, arriving one year apart via a rescue group called Peyton’s Safe Haven. They’re Heelers born to herd, manage, supervise, and occasionally micromanage ─ and they take this responsibility very, very seriously.
