Roma Pizza

Upon Second Thought…or Taste!

By Arthur Schwartz

Several months back, when Roma Pizza reopened on the corner of 11th and 6th Avenue, the revered former corner of Famous Rays, I gave the new business a negative review. I said, “the sauce is good, but the crust is too soft.”

But one night recently, having been diagnosed with Covid, knowing I was headed for quarantine, I put on a mask and ran over to Roma to get a couple of slices. (I also went to Pinkberry, on 13th and 6th, to get some Lemon Splash). I got a slice of their Margherita with plum tomato sauce and a piece of Tri-Color Rainbow, with vodka sauce, margherita sauce, and pesto sauce. And, I gotta say, I was blown away. The sauce was tangy, the crust was thin and crisp. I was won over. I am now a fan. I recommend Roma wholeheartedly.

Roma has a wide variety of selections. Pieces with all sorts of combos. Spinach, broccoli, mushrooms, onions, sausage, meatballs, pineapple, green peppers. Some thick crust, and focaccia slices.

A plain slice is $3.50, Sicilian is $3.75, one topping is $4.25, two toppings are $4.75.

It’s worth the price!

PS. I tried it again after I got better. It was just as good.
